Welcome to A Hot Glass Act's website!
Mission statement for A Hot Glass Act: A Hot Glass Act creates Art with HOPE, FAITH and JOY. Each hot glass item is designed to touch, strengthen and let our souls soar. Along with larger wall and sculptural art, A Hot Glass Act has wearable pieces that celebrate life and travel wherever you travel. A Hot Glass Act also accepts commissions.
Celebrating art glass, life and love,
Jo Ann Pastori, owner/glass artist
Benefits of Creativity: Of course I would like you to take any of my Creativity Celebrations because you get to make your own beautiful glass and actually see it melt from sharp pointy pieces into beautiful, intense glass with the tension of a drop of water. It’s natural, colorful and best of all - it’s made by you, not some stranger in China.
To be more creative gives you all sorts of benefits. It reduces stress, thereby improving health. It makes you smarter by exercising your brain. It increases your self confidence and who knows where you will go from there. I’m sure you can think of even more benefits and there’s one more that I want to mention. It creates a more balanced life. It is fun and creates more openings in your life for your own time and your own fun whatever that might be.
It’s no surprise that I think making glass art helps you to grab onto your creativity, which grabs onto your strength and ends up connecting you to all your blessings. If you are in the area, come join us for a Creativity Celebration.
Upcoming Shows and Celebrations for A Hot Glass Act: Here is a new list of my current art glass shows and celebrations. Hope to see you. I have new pendants, purse hangers, key finders and other art and gift items.
- Creativity Celebrations for July, 2010
Date: Saturday, July 17, 2010 Time: 1:00pm to 5:00pm Cost: $50.00 Location: 8957 Diamondback Drive, Santee, CA 92071
Do you love to create beauty in your home and in your life? Come to our glass art party where we’ll learn a little bit about the history of glass and how fused glass pendants are made, while enjoying lunch and each other’s company.
There will be a variety of glass art, created by Jo Ann Pastori to inspire you in your own creations.
This month we are being practical and making purse hangers or key keepers along with a pendant. Summer vacation time is here and the key keepers allow you to find your keys immediately, not down at the bottom of the purse. A Variety of Purse Hangers
The purse hangers were popular starting in the 20's and now with all the germs that are antibiotic resistant in present day, they are making a come-back. The purse hangers are a custom order from china and have a longer shank which means they fit thicker tables (like the pub style) and are stronger. They can hold heavy purses, backpacks and briefcases so they make great gifts.
The first item we will be making is a pedant and it will be cool enough to attach a bail and take back home with you when you leave. Pendants
The purse hanger or key keepers can be picked up later. Blue Key Keeper
If you would like to make a matching purse hanger and key hook finder (a great gift idea) you can for an additional $25.00. If you just want to make 2 pendants instead of a purse hanger or key finder that's fine.
The cost of the class is $50.00 and will cover the cost of snacks/light dinner, pre-cut glass (to include the more expensive dichroic (reflective glass)) and materials, and kiln firing for two art pieces. You just enjoy the precut glass, and put it together under guidance, but the artistry is yours.
